( Warded to the Order )
It's so very reassuring to know that such an esteemed Auror is working the case involving our home being burned down. It has been such a loss to Edgar and myself (as well as Evander and Penelope, of course) but knowing that it is being looked into so thoroughly really makes it easier for me to sleep at night.
Thank you, Mrs. Rookwood. It really is quite appreciated.

[Warded to Order - Sirius]
I don't know who all hasn't heard or doesn't know, so I'm giving a general statement so everyone is on the same page. The duel hit Edgar in a bad way and he isn't doing very well at all. He seems to be stable and okay, but then things turn and it's just a bit of a roller coaster.
So, I don't know. If you would like to stop by and see him, you're more than welcome but do let me know. Evander and Penelope are staying here and upstairs because I don't want to worry our parents by explaining ano don't want to bother our parents too much.
Anyway, that's all.

I love my son and daughter very much, but after much thought and stewing I have decided that I am ready for them to be ten-years-old. Not eleven, because I don't think I'm going to be able to bear having them be away for months at a time at school. Not thirteen, because I remember what I was like as a teenager and Merlin only knows that that's probably hereditary. Not seventeen, because I know full well that if I can't stand them being at school, I won't be able to handle knowing they can just plain move out if they so choose.
Ten, though, ten seems nice. Ten is just the right age because they are old enough to really start doing things on their own, but young enough to still rely on their mum and not think that they know better than her.
In other words, they are wearing me out to no end lately. I think that I could sleep for two days straight and in an hour they would have me ready for two days more. I don't know what it is about them, but I'm almost certain they got it from their father. (I love you, darling.)
And then, of course, as soon as I write this Evander comes up to me, kisses my cheek, and then runs off. All right, maybe they can stay this age a bit longer.

Good Merlin.
I just fell down half a flight of stairs due to a puzzle piece. A puzzle piece! Not a toy train or a book or Evander, but a puzzle piece. It was the slippery side down and apparently my heel caught it just right for me to land on my arse six steps down. I won't even claim that it was a graceful fall, but actually included a great deal of arm flailing and even a bit of a shriek as I realized that yes, indeed, I was falling down stairs.
I don't think that I've fallen down stairs since I was a sixth year, when a seventh year tripped me and I fell down the staircase by the Great Hall and gave everyone going to dinner a free show. This wasn't quite as embarrassing, but honestly. A puzzle piece.
And here ends your public service announcement, per Calypso Bones. You may now continue going about your evening.
